Controversial anti-co-sleeping ads in Milwaukee

A couple weeks ago, the city of Milwaukee launched anti-co-sleeping ads in an effort to fight their high rates of sudden infant death. The campaign was based on new recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics that states there is a lower risk of infant mortality when the child is sleeping in the same room, but not in the same bed, as the mother. However - not surprisingly - the ads have sparked negative reactions, including the cheeky Campaign Against Milwaukee's Co-Sleeping Campaign.

While the image is extreme, an autopsy report released today puts a punctuation mark on the city's message. There was no evidence of trauma in three infant deaths (in just the past three weeks), but each baby was co-sleeping with an adult.
